Originally designed for the Danish and Swedish military in the 1950s, Hudsalva has been adopted widely since by various European armies, mountaineers and adventurers. Offering protection beyond lips.
Apparently European Armies have used it to grease weapons, condition boots, and even repel mosquitoes. Some even use it to grease pan’s, which sounds all the more realistic after mulling over its peanut oil and beeswax-rich ingredient list.
It can be used on a variety of body parts (externally, obviously) that are susceptible to dryness, such as the face, hands, elbows and feet, and even for staving off frost bites and applying on minor wounds.
